To celebrate its ten-year anniversary, Modular
Space Systems® (MSS)
introduces Mod5, an innovative new system of sustainable
modular construction. From office buildings and classrooms to
specialty military structures, Mod5 features flexible layouts
and finishes that combine a professional look with the utmost
in efficiency, customizability, and ease of construction.
Tom Idell, founder and president of MSS, has a
30-year reputation for quality and integrity that has helped
MSS to expand. In ten years, MSS has grown from a one-person
operation to include four specialists in addition to exclusive
partnerships with other companies.
Tom started MSS in 1997, specializing in
trailers and other types of modular construction, including
guard houses and industrial in-plant offices. MSS expanded its
product line by developing a partnership with a specialty
modular steel building manufacturer, which specialized in
efficient, flexible storage solutions and warehouse
enclosures. The product proved to be a superior and more
versatile alternative to modular-trailer construction.
The partnership flourished, and, in 2002,
development began on a product that would eventually become
the Mod5 system. MSS developed exclusive partner agreements
with outside firms, including a design build construction firm
to provide mechanical expertise and an office environments
firm to provide professional and versatile interior layouts.
Through these partnerships, Mod5 is able to offer extensive
options in layout, mechanicals, and interior design, including
modular furniture, floors, and walls.
MSS has demonstrated the versatility, speed,
and ease of the Mod5 system through several successful
projects, including a 5,000-square-foot explosives training
center for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms in
Fort AP Hill, Virginia, and six large, two-story specialty
military structures, which were completed in just three
months.
